The ancient Greeks believed that eating cabbage could help keep you young and would cure or prevent nervous disorders. During the Middle Ages cabbage was eaten by newlyweds to ensure their fertility and the constancy of their love.

Cabbage is delicious raw as part of a salad and in soups and stir fries. Cabbage pairs well with apple or caraway for love, or dill for money, and potatoes for protection.

Cabbage is mildly anti-inflammatory and rich in Thiamin, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Folate and Manganese.
