Cocoa

Theobroma cocao

Cocoa is made from dried, fermented beans of a tropical plant. Unfortunately, the cocoa industry is rife with abuses. It is best to seek out cocoa marked "fair trade" to avoid any negative energies attached to the chocolate market.

Cocoa has been used in South America for centuries and was considered by the Mayans and Aztecs to be something sacred. The Latin name, Theobroma, means food of the Gods.

Dark chocolate is best. Enjoy it in as close to its natural form as possible. Milk chocolate and Dutch chocolate has lost much of its natural energies. Enjoy a little chocolate without guilt.

Cocoa is rich in protein and fiber, potassium, zinc, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and manganese
