Maple Syrup

Maple syrup is made from the sap of any of several varieties of maple tree. It is a sweet treat with a taste that cannot be duplicated, though the attempt is often made. The cost of pure maple syrup is high, but aficionados say it's worth it. The flavor is strong so a small amount goes a long way.

Maple syrup is harvested in late winter/ early spring when the sap is rising in the trees. (During the rising sap moon). In areas where maple syrup is a staple crop, this is often an occasion for festivities.

Maple syrup is delicious over pancakes or as a glaze for baked goods and salty meats like bacon, breakfast sausage and ham.

Maple syrup can be added to a meal to bring the energy of the maple tree to the tables and is a suitable offering to spirits who like something sweet, vegan and sustainable.

Maple syrup contains zinc and manganese
