One very important part of our Hearth is our Micro Farm. What is a micro farm? Well, in my Township, part of the definition of a farm includes the space of 3 acres of land. Using that designation, define a micro farm as a farming operation on less than 3 acres of land. In our case, we have just under one acre of land on which we raise small livestock for eggs and meat and garden for vegetables with the goal of meeting 50% of our food needs from our own land, thus, gaining closer intimacy with our land and reducing our footprint. But this isn't the place for philosophizing. This micro-blog shall simply record the daily events on the farm, with maybe a picture or two.
