Cranberry Apple Sauce

This seasonal treat is great for any festive occasion and is delicious spread on toast or served with roast!

Preparation Time:


2 cups Cranberries
2 small apples
1 tbsp Cornstarch
3 tbsp Sugar or too taste
1/4 C Apple Cider


  1. Peel and slice the apples, rinse and sort the cranberries.
  2. Place in a saucepan with apple cider and simmer covered for 1 hour on low heat stirring every 5 minutes or so. Make sure it's covered because the cranberries pop and make a lovely mess!
  3. Add sugar and cornstarch and stir.
  4. Simmer 10 minutes more, stirring constantly.
  5. Taste and adjust the sugar.
  6. Serve warm or cold. If chilled, it will gel.

Additional Comments:

Stir in pecans and top with whipped-cream for a tasty dessert. It also makes an excellent glaze for game meats or use like a sauce for your holiday feasts.
