Spring
It's spring! The snow is melting, oh wait, it's back, no no it's melting again, no… no that's not snow that's just freezing rain… But look at the tender green shoots springing up (sometimes right through the snow) meaning fresh salads and tender asparagus, tangy rhubarb and beneath the surface we have root vegetables stirring! Our hens are laying again and there are baby animals everywhere (that means dairy!). Venture out into the forest and you'll find morels and fiddleheads popping up among the leaf litter and, if you can get them before the birds do, cherries in the canopy and strawberries underfoot!
